Phone won’t ring when watching any video

Phone won’t ring when watching a video on Facebook or YouTube. I’m not in silent mode, not in a concentration mode and the Attention aware feature is turned off. This is a iOS 16 bug, not an app issue. Would someone know how to fix this ?

Hey patricya,

Which specific version of iOS 16 are you all running? Tested this on an iPhone 14 Pro Max running the latest version of iOS and the latest versions of both YouTube and Facebook app and when calling during a YouTube video, it did ring as expected, but it did not ring during the FaceBook video, which could potentially be a setting within that app. However, if you're running the latest software across the board, and you're being a different result, you may want to Get Support directly from Apple moving forward if the Facebook app doesn't have a setting related to silencing notifications during video play. If you're not sure where to check for that, work with Facebook Support.

Take care.

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities patricya,

We recommend checking your Focus settings to see whether an active focus my be preventing the delivery of phone notifications. You can also customize your Focus to allow calls from certain contacts:

1. Go to Settings > Focus.
2. Tap a provided Focus option—like Do Not Disturb, Personal, Sleep, or Work—then tap Customize Focus.
3. Set up your Focus. You can select allowed or silenced notifications from people and apps, connect your Lock Screen or Home Screen, have this Focus turn on automatically, and add Focus filters.
You can also enable Time Sensitive notifications from apps, which allows apps not in your allowed list to send notifications marked as Time Sensitive.
You can also turn on Focus from Control Center. Just open Control Center on your iPhone, or on your iPad, touch and hold Focus, then select the Focus you want to turn on.
When you set a Focus, the icon appears in the status bar and on your Lock Screen, and your status is automatically displayed in the Messages app. When people try to send you a message, they'll see that you've silenced notifications, but they can still notify you if it's urgent.
When you use Focus on one device, the setting is automatically applied across your Apple devices that are signed in with the same Apple ID.

Use Focus on your iPhone or iPad

We hope this helps!
