Text Alerts
Why isn't my iphone 11 alerting me via sound when I get a text from one of my contacts? Yes, everything is turned on and the volume is up.

Check if Hide Alerts have been activated for that one contact.
Look for a small "crossed out bell". out of the conversations. You deactivate Hide Alerts by swiping from left to right on the conversation in the overview and tapping the purple bell.
