HomePod stereo pair - one dropping out frequently

Having read the previous thread on this subject, I wanted to contribute but the thread was closed. I have raised this again to make my point.

I have tried all the suggestions made previously, moving the HomePods away from the router, reducing the tri-band router to using a single band (2.4 gHz) all to no avail. So I took the final option open to me. I ungrouped the pair and sent music to them as two mono speakers instead of a stereo pair. Now I have no drop outs. My conclusion is that Apples stereo pairing process is inconsistent and not fit for purpose.

An update to my earlier post, the dual mono works, but is not ideal. So I grouped the pair and then selected them as speakers for my Apple TV. Using Apple Music via my phone or any other device or by the Apple TV, playing music in stereo now works also without drop outs. The only problem is that asking Siri to play music via the Apple TV does not work. Siri replies that she can't find a speaker called "Apple TV"...
