Cannot Turn Off Long Press Sound In IOS 16.3

Recently upgraded to iOS 16.3 and the sounds with the haptic feedback are back. I cannot figure out how to turn off the sound when long pressing anything (widgets, pics, browser tabs, etc.). This is NOT the haptic feedback, this is the “click” sound.

Previous responses (approved by Apple) I found in the Apple forums and on the web say to turn off the vibrations via Accessibility -> Touch -> Vibrations. It turns off the haptic vibration but not the sound.

How do you silence the click sound, not the haptic vibration?

It is already on silent mode.

I wear hearing aids that connect to the phone via Bluetooth. The click sound only occurs when my aids are connected. If I disconnect them from Bluetooth, the click sound is gone but the haptic vibration is still active.

Hi there OKStateScott,

The only way to silence the sound that is made when you use Haptic Feedback on your iPhone would be to put your device in Silent mode. This information from How to put your iPhone on vibrate, ring, or silent mode shows how to do this:

Use Silent mode
The side of an iPhone with the Ring/Silent switch magnified. Orange is showing on the switch.
To put your iPhone in Silent mode, move the switch so that orange is showing.

If this is something you would like to see changed in the future, then we would encourage you to submit your feedback about this here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple

Cheers!
