Calls on my iPhone 14 Pro Max become garbled randomly while using AirPod Pro 2

While making calls with my airpods, the audio will become garbled randomly for 10 more seconds at a time. Sometimes it disappears most times I have to hang-up and initiate another call.

Both parties can hear the other party sounding garbled and it's not possible to converse while it is happening.

Service provider: Telstra Australia

Location: occurs at home and away from home

The AirPod Pro 2s are a few weeks hold and I have been to the Apple store and they reset them saying that nothing is noticeably wrong.

If I remove my AirPods when it occurs and continue talking using the phone, the garbled sound is gone.

It's making me crazy!!!

Hi Mostlysatisfieduser,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you're unable to hear your callers while using your AirPods on a call but you can hear them if you use your iPhone without the AirPods, correct?

Since you've already reset your AirPods and still experience the same behavior, your AirPods will likely require service. We would suggest that you reach out to Apple directly to go over your service options with you. You can find their contact details here: Contact Apple Support

Take care!
