Macbook charge not stopping at 80% when optimized

I never leave it plugged in overnight but im too busy to constantly monitor the percentage when its charging :/

and it always charges to 100% and not stopping at 80% even tho it is optimised.

(tho i manage to not let the battery fall below 20%)

I heard its not good for the battery and my battery capacity dropped to 97% in 9 month.

is it okay? am I overthinking this situation? :D this is my first MacBook I might be overprotective :D

This happened to me yesterday. It's on the charger 99% of the time, but I went in for a long meeting yesterday, and now the battery is charging to 100%.

Is there a way to force it to stop at 80%?

Hello ganulya,

Optimized charging can take some time to learn your schedule and usage, so it should kick in once it has enough information. Regarding day to day usage, the following article outlines tips and tricks to get the most out of your MacBook's battery: Batteries - Maximizing Performance - Apple
