Ipad trackpad cursor jumps up

What’s going on with my ipad trackpad? My ipad is fairly new and acting weird. When i try to click on something on a page the cursor will jump up to the top of the page and won’t let me click on anything? I’m doing an update now to see if that will fix it but not sure yet if it will. Wondering if this is something that other’s have had a problem with on ipad sense a google search shows it was a problem before a fews years ago but you’d think apple would’ve fixed that problem with newer ipads. 🤷‍♀️ any advice how you fix this crazy cursor would be appreciated ty

Hi Monkeygurlhere,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that your trackpad isn't working as expected with your iPad.

How is your trackpad connected? Are you using Bluetooth, Sidecar with a Mac or a wired connection?

Do you experience the same behavior after you restart your devices? If you need help to restart your iPad, you can follow the steps outlined here to do so: Restart your iPad - Apple Support

"How to restart an iPad without a Home button

  1. Press and hold either volume button and the top button until the power off slider appears.

2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.

3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the top button until you see the Apple logo.
