mid 2011 iMac power supply is suspect. I’ve never opened an iMac before but have taken the display off. Should the fans spin up or show some kind of life when powering on even though the display is still disconnected? The psu looks good with no bleeding or swollen caps. I don’t see any LEDs on any of the boards. Just going to let it sit here until a donor psu can be found. Thank you.

All I’m asking is does the lcd need to be connected in order to bring power in.

fwiw, buddy brought it over because it kept shutting off. It did turn on once but shut down just as it was about to boot up. But hasn’t turned on since.
