iMovie for Mac has no comparable feature to Magic Movie. Nor am I aware of an app that has a feature comparable to Apple's iOS Magic Movie. There may be some apps out there, but I am just not aware of any. I did a brief internet search but without success. You may be able to dig a little deeper and come up with something.
Using Mac iMovie you could try arranging your photos and videos in some logical order in a Photos app album, and then do a File/Export of the clips, using the Sequence format, to a folder on your desktop. Then drag the clips into an iMovie project. They will keep the sequence that you applied. And then do some minimal editing. You can apply a cross dissolve transition to the project (Edit/Add Cross Dissolve). Add a title, Ken Burns effect . . . . .etc. Not as fast as doing it with Magic Movie but might be doable.
You also could look into purchasing an iPhone or iPad that has iMovie 3 on it, or available to download. Or perhaps borrowing a friend's iPhone or iPad.
