Timer volume low after ios 16.3.1 update

The volume is now low on timer. When I change the ringtone for the when the timer ends it plays each one at a loud volume. I select one but when I use the timer it is quiet. I have tried sound & haptic and the other tones are set to loud and controllable by volume buttons but the timer is still quiet. It all started after the most recent ios 16.3.1 update when it reset some of my phones settings. Would be greatful for any advice. Thanks
