Ringtone Volume - iPhone 14 - iOS 16.2

When I use the alarm or timer on my clock, no matter how I adjust the volume controls in advance the ringtones go off at full volume, is anyone else experiencing this issue? I've gone online and looked and followed suggestions for settings and it still happens. The speaker on these phones is pretty good, so when these go off at full volume it's jarring but I can't seem to stop it from happening.

Greetings Mjd5701,

Thanks for keeping us updated. Having your phone evaluated by an Apple technician is a great step to take. To avoid long wait times, please be sure to schedule an appointment. Also, we suggest that you complete the following steps prior to arriving at the Apple Store:

"Before you bring in your device

Follow these steps before you take your device to an Apple Store, Apple Authorized Service Provider, or carrier. If your device won't turn on or respond, finish as many steps as possible:

  1. Back up your iOS device.
  2. Have your Apple ID password ready. For some repairs, you'll need your Apple ID password to erase your device and turn off Find My iPhone.*
  3. If your iPhone needs battery service, have the battery percentage at 30% or less when you bring it in, if possible.

If you haven't already, call to check whether you need an appointment before you go to a service location. For example, schedule a Genius Bar reservation before you go to an Apple Store. When you go, remember to bring these items:

  • Your sales receipt (if possible), in case your service requires proof of purchase
  • Your device and any accessories that you need help with
  • A form of personal identification, such as a driver’s license, passport, or other government-issued ID"

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities mjd5701,

First, try adjusting the volume of your iPhone in Settings > Sounds & Haptics and drag the slider under Ringtone and Alert Volume again. The following page provides additional information that may be helpful: How to set and change alarms on your iPhone

Than use the following steps to lock the volume:

1: Go to Settings .
2: Tap Sounds & Haptics (on supported models) or Sounds (on other iPhone models).
3: Turn off Change with Buttons.

Adjust the volume on iPhone

We hope this helps!

I appreciate your response, but I've tried this and everything else and the alarms and timers till go off at full volume, it's the strangest thing -- mostly because it's such an odd and isolated glitch. I'm running by an Apple store this week to have someone look at it. This is one of those nagging annoyances from an otherwise nice little device.
