Sharing apps between two iPads that are signed in to the same Apple ID

Hi,

I have two iPad's, one for each of my kids. I have them both signed into my Apple ID. I purchased Minecraft on one of the iPads. Is there a way for me to see that purchase on the second iPad and download it? I have tried almost all solutions that I have found online.

(Sorry I'm not too familiar with Apple products)

Thank you.

iPad, iPadOS 16

  1. Open the App Store app on the 2nd iPad.
  2. Tap your Apple ID in the upper right corner
  3. Tap Purchased

All the iOS apps you have acquired with your Apple ID should appear there to download.

M1 Mac mini, macOS 13.2.1; Watch, series 7 GPS/cellular, watchOS 9.3.1; iPad Pro 2nd Gen, iPadOS 16.3.1; iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 16.3.1; TV 4th Gen, tvOS 16.3.2; HomePods, audioOS 16.3.3 and Airport Express w/ Airplay 2

Since you admit to being new at this “Apple business”, some important - albeit unsolicited - advice:

Sharing a common AppleID is a REALLY bad practice; the negative effects of which will only compound as your kids get older.

Setup a Family and create separate AppleIDs for each individual.

See the following - somewhat overlapping - articles for guidance:

Make sure that each family member has a unique Apple ID - Apple Support

Set up Family Sharing - Apple Support

Create an Apple ID for your child – Apple Support (AU)
