Hi

Is HEVC (or is it HEIC) better quality than H.264 or just smaller?

I ask because I need to export a 52min film that'll take over night with HEVC and probably just a couple hours with H.264. And only a gig larger.

Then I must upload to internet.

What are your thots?

To where in internet? FWIW sites like Youtube or Facebook very often re-encode movies and images. At least in the past it was recommended to use the best quality .jpg compression and no more than 2048 * resolution because FB would re-compress and downscale the image anyway.

H.264 is somewhat more widely supported so I'd use it unless I know the target audience can play H.265.
