On my macbook air I mistakenly deleted a ppt and placed it in the trash folder - then emptied the trash. Can the trash folder be recovered? I am using macOS monterey.

Is the User saying the " Trash Folder " has disappeared from the Dock ?
Or does the User mean to Contents in the Trash Folder has disappeared ?
It would seem normal for the Trash Folder to empty as the user " - then emptied the trash "
The User can user their Time Machine Backup to recover deleted files
Refer to information related to Time Machine Backup Utility built into the Operating System for this very purpose
Time Machine Backup is very useful

Sorry about this issue of the Emptying the Trash to quickly..
As for Purchasing Software to do a Time Machine Backup - that Software is built Into the Operating System
Incase the user overlooked that information, here it is again.
The only thing to purchase is a reliable External Drive that has the Drive Capacity at least 2 1/2 Time Bigger that the Internal Drive .
That would allow for a long relationship and happy between the TM Backup Drive and the computer
Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support (CA)

thanks - that is what I understand as well. Time to redo the ppt. :-(
IMHO , more importantly are the Technical Issues surrounding Emptying the Trash too soon and incorporating the Built In TM Backup Utility into the Daily workflow and on a Scheduled Regime
FWIW, since Time Machine didn't have a chance to back up the file, unless the file was backed up to iCloud or an equivalent, there is no chance to recover the file, with or without software.
thanks - that is what I understand as well. Time to redo the ppt. :-(
