Has anyone resolved the problem of exceedingly slow downloads of photos from iCloud to PC (Win10)? I'm trying to download some 8,000 photos and movies and it's taken nearly a week so far to download ~3000.

Photo sync from iCloud to Windows very slow Hi, found this issue, iCloud synch to PC is very slow - Apple Community, which was closed, but the problem remains. Has there been any resolution to this or any workaround that could help sync photos faster. As identified in the previous thread, it has nothing to do with bandwidth. The iCloud app shows very little or no network traffic.

How to speed up icloud photos downloads on PC? I'm trying to download all my photos (50GB) from icloud as full resolution images on my Windows PC, but it is frustratingly slow. I select a few hundred at time, select "Always keep on this on this device" and then wait a looong time. I can see in ethernet activity that icloud only downloads one item every ~15 sec which is utterly dumb. I have 50Mbps download so can cope with significantly more. How can this be made to go faster? I've been at this for over a day and still nowhere near finished. It would also be helpful to have a single button to download everything and just leave it churning in the background. Why isn't that an option?

If you have followed the steps here Set up and use iCloud Photos on your Windows PC - Apple Support

download your photos from iCloud to PC, we would also recommend restarting your computer and making sure the the internet connection is good.
