IPhone 6s recharge

My IPhone 6s after a recent update has been quickly dropping its battery re-charge from 100% to 10% or 1%, and needs re-charging. The charge held for longer, before the update on Apple Wi Fi just outside of the Apple Shop entree. The IPhone was on charge with a portable charger from the Apple Shop. The IPhone held its charge up until it was removed from the portable charger or the charge cord to the room wall. Why? Please help.

Your phone is quite old and perhaps the battery is at the end if its useful life. Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging and look at the Maximum Capacity; if it is 80% or below, it needs to be replaced by an Apple Store or Apple Authorised service centre. Don't be tempted to have a third-party battery fitted by an unauthorised technician.

It may be time to buy a newer iPhone which will be able to run the latest iOS.
