With the last MacOS Ventura update, my Mac no longer allows loading of music/podcast/audiobooks/etc. to my iPod Nano. Finder displays the iPad as a usb drive, but offers no way to loads/transfers my content. Is iPod Nano no longer supported. If so, is there an app that can accomplish this functionality. FYI - it works fine on my non- Ventura macs.

Have you ensured you're following all the required steps to sync the iPod nano to your Mac since updating to Ventura? If not, please review them and follow them from here: Sync content between your Mac and iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support.
Sync all items of a content type
1. Connect your device to your Mac.
You can connect your device using a USB or USB-C cable or using a Wi-Fi connection. See Sync content between your Mac and iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch over Wi-Fi.
2. In the Finderon your Mac, select the device in the Finder sidebar.
If you connect your device to your Mac using a USB cable and don’t see the device in the Finder sidebar, see If your device doesn’t appear in the sidebar.
3. Click the type of content you want to sync in the button bar.
Note: If you use iCloud Photos and Apple Music, your photos and music are synced automatically using iCloud. When you click Music or Photos, no options appear for syncing.
4. Select the “Sync [content type] onto [device name]” checkbox to turn on syncing for that type of item. For example, select the “Sync movies onto [device name]” checkbox to sync your movies.
With the checkbox selected, syncing is set to transfer all items of that type to your device.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each type of content you want to sync.
The bar at the bottom of the window shows how much free space remains on your device after you sync. Move the pointer over the bar to view details about the content you’re syncing.
6. When you’re ready to sync, click Apply.

I am using Ventura 13.3 and also have 2 of the 7th gen ipod nanos (both sw ver 1.0.4)
I am able to see my iPod in a finder window (left side bar).
When I click on it, the catagories show up across the top & I can initiate copying of audio books.
The only annoyance is that the complete audio book transfers in only 1 VERY LONG chapter.
Not terrible...just need to know how many minutes you've listened to.
This does not directly help you except to say that for the above sw configs, the instructions worked.
Thanks for your response genieen16. I understand the sync process as you have outlined it. This is the approach I use on my other pre Ventura Mac's. However, it seems that the key element causing my questions is related to my iPod "Nano" 7th generation. My research seems to indicate that the name "Nano" is used frequently when referring to the players in the iPod family. When I dive deeper I find that the published procedures seem to drop the "Nano" terminology. I suspect (please tell me I am wrong) that the sync using Ventura only works with IOS devices. The Nano is not IOS and I cannot find a reference in the Apple universe to it being an exception the the sync process under Ventura. If I'm doing something wrong, any ideas are welcome.
