I woke up earlier than my sleep schedule. I manually changed the wake up time and I lost all my sleep data. I don’t understand what I did. I am tempted to not mess with the schedule in the morning if I wake up early. any other suggestions.

I woke up earlier than my sleep schedule was set for. I manually changed the wake up time when i woke up and I lost all my sleep data. I don’t understand what I did. I am tempted to not mess with the schedule in the morning if I wake up early and just let the schedule run it’s course. any other suggestions.

I found an easy way to tell my Apple Watch that I got up earlier than planned, while still preserving my sleep data. When I wake up before the scheduled sleep time, I open Focus on my iPhone, then tap Sleep to turn that focus off. My sleep schedule stays intact. All of my sleep data is available.

To turn Sleep focus off, on your iPhone, swipe across from the top right to the bottom left. Select Focus. Tap Sleep.

Hope this helps.

In addition to turning off the sleep focus on your phone, as Carol correctly answered, I found you can also turn off the sleep focus on your watch as well and not lose your sleep data. Just press and hold down the crown button to ‘wake up’ your watch and then swipe up and tap the sleep focus bed to turn it off and that works too.

Hello justsprink,

We'll be happy to assist you. Let's verify with the steps taken to edit your sleep schedule:

"Edit your sleep schedule on your iPhone

If you need to update your sleep schedule, you can make changes to your full schedule or for Next Wake Up Only. With Next Wake Up Only, the changes you make apply only to the following day. Changes made to your full schedule apply to all future days.

An iPhone screen showing the options to edit Next Wake Up Only

Update Next Wake Up Only

  1. Open the Health app, tap Browse at bottom of the screen, then tap Sleep. If you have Sleep saved to your Favorites list, you can access it from the Summary page in the Health app.
  2. Tap Edit under the sleep schedule in Next.
  3. Drag the curved slider to set Bedtime and Wake Up times. The slider turns orange if the schedule does not meet your sleep goal.
  4. Tap Alarm to turn on the alarm and adjust your alarm sound, volume, and haptics.
  5. Tap Done to save your changes.

You can also change your next Wake Up alarm from the Clock app."
