Macbook Pro 2017 - Horizontal lines / stripes on display

My Macbook Pro from 2017 has suddenly gotten some horizontal lines/stripes on the display. It seems to be the hardware/display that is the issue. It has just appeared by it standing on a table so I wonder if anyone has had this changed by a recall of the display or similar. It is insanely expensive to get it changed and I feel I am not the cause of this issue, it is rather a hardware issue from Apple.

Confirmed as hardware issue by Apple support. No damage has been done to the computer, i.e. poor quality from Apple from start. Waiting for hopefully a recall for these kinds of issues at some point.

It is not resonable to pay a huge amount of money for fixing a computer that has been normally used. Apple support onsite recommended to rather buy a new computer since the amount of money needed to fix the display is not worth it. Not really helping with the environment when buying a new computer is more reasonable than fixing an old one, that has no other issue than the display.

Electro-mechanical devices fail at random, arbitrary, and capricious times.

The most frequent reason for most failures is 'just because'.

Your specific failure is most likely caused by an advanced scientific principle called ...

... 'bad luck'.

If you want a really substantial lesson how this this works (or more precisely how this stops working) own an older used automobile.

Don't hold your breath while waiting as it is highly unlikely to ever happen. There are other more common failures which never received any free repair programs. Plus most Apple free repair programs only cover up to 3 or maybe 4 years after purchase (it is extremely rare these days to have a free repair program last for 5 years).

FYI, Apple only fully supports hardware for up to five years after the model is discontinued (there is another two year period when a Mac is considered "Vintage" when Apple will still repair it as long as the necessary parts are still available).
