Monterey: Not reloading Apple software after shutdown

When I shut down with Pages and/or Numbers and/or Safari and/or Mail open, I find recently (I am on MacOS version 12.5.1) that these Apple programs do not reload when I start the Mac and log in again. Other software (some of it from Apple) that may have been open such as Contacts, Calendar, Zoom, Skype, Hey reload automatically. I have always checked the box on the Shut Down confirmation window which requests reloading.

Can anyone suggest a fix?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.5

Follow previous advise First

But do notice " I am on MacOS version 12.5.1 "

The current version of Monterey has moved on this 12.5.1 and bring both Bug Fixes and Security update too.

Current Monterey is now 12.6.3

Suggest doing a Time Machine Backup before moving forwards
