I don’t have a computer to put iTunes on for the iOS download. How can I update my IPad IOS without a computer? Why can’t I download it directly to the device?

The files are too large and conventional data connections are unreliable. If this was an iPhone you could use 5G.
Borrow a computer from a friend or go to an apple Service center.

Thank you for the answer. This is very frustrating. They should let me try to download it at my own risk. I have excellent internet but I am 30 miles from a store. They claim an iPad replaces the need for a computer for many people, and yet I need a computer to keep it up to date.
I don’t have a computer to upgrade the IOS with, why can’t I download it directly to the iPad?
