I have a Macbook Air M2 (2022) & OS - Ventura 13.2 (22D49). Whenever I shut my laptop screen or the laptop wakes up from sleep, the keyboard & trackpad stop working. I have to force shut the laptop & restart it.
The keyboard backlight also shuts off. It's a very weird problem and I cant seem to find any solution to it. Is it a defect in Macbook Air?

Did that too. I'm on OS 13.2.1. Now I've opened a case with Apple Support. They also tried everything they could remotely. They've now escalated it to their engineering team.
Most likely this is a hardware issue. As soon as I close the lid of the laptop and open it, the trackpad and keyboard stop working. While the external keyboard and mouse work. Let's see. It's still under warranty. It's a brand new piece.
