Icloud locked iphone 6s

I got an iphone 6s plus for free at my local phone store, but it's icloud locked and I want to use it as my personal phone. Does anyone know how to remove the activation lock?

Ask the store to contact its previous owner or give you a different one. The activation lock is an anti-theft measure.
