Mail is resending old sent emails

There are many reports of this same behavior, but all that I've looked at are years old - 10 to 19 years. Mail 16.0 on my Mac running Monterrey 12.6.3 is occasionally re-sending emails I've sent days before. I automatically send to myself so that I see my conversations on all devices, but this is not honored. That is, the sent mail goes to the 'To' addressee, but not back to my BCC address. My wife sees the same thing happening on her mac. Can this be fixed with a parameter change?

Hey there dickharris444,

Since noticing this behavior, have you had a chance to test if this happens when using the same email account from a web browser on a computer? If not, we recommend doing this to help rule out email account issues specifically.

If this happens only on your Mac and not with the email account from another computer, Contact Apple Support for additional help.

If this happens with the email account on another computer as well, reach out to your email service provider for next steps.

Take care!
