Have 2 external drives that worked flawlessly before upgrading to Ventura. Now I can only read from both of them. They are both formatted APFS drives. Getting the attached error message.

Is either a time machine drive? Those are read only, but they would’ve been read only before.
do you need permissions on the external drive i.e. is it shared with other users that need to protect their space?
If not, get info on the drive and check the box to ignore ownership.

Does Illustrator have System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access enabled?
How are the Privileges set for the drives? See if you an set them to this:
How are they formatted? Select one in finder and choose get info to see
If they are in TFS, then you had some software installed that allowed you to write to them, but that software doesn’t work under Ventura.
They are both formatted APFS.
Thank You, Barney. I tried all of that already. I do backup the drives with Carbon Copy Cloner on a daily basis. Would that be causing a problem in Ventura?
No, it wouldn’t.
Can you write to it in the finder or from other applications?
No, I cannot drag and drop from the finder, also cannot save from any application to either drive.
