how to RANDBETWEEN between two dates?
originally I wanted to use DATEVALUE to generate the serial number of the date but instead of generating number it still returns date

you could try something like this.
It will create a random date that is between start and end date.
Formula for C2=A2+RANDBETWEEN(1,DATEDIF(A2,B2,"D")−1)
Based on your region the , or the ; will be used to separate the different sections of a formula. If you write one thousand as 1,000.00 then the , is used as your formula separator. If you write one thousand as 1.000,00 then the ; is used as your formula separator.
