Mail notification in Notification Center don't go away when email read on Mac 🥹

  1. I receive an email
  2. A Mail notification appears in my Notification Center on my iPhone
  3. Email is opened/read on Mac
  4. Mail notification in Notification Center on iPhone stays there. Instead, the notification should disappear.

If I do those exact same steps with Messages (text messages), it works as expected.

I'm not sure what causes it to go wrong with Mail...

Hi! Thanks for the answer :)

I believe that your answer is incorrect, however.

As I said, if I repeat the same exact steps with Messages instead of Mail, the behavior is correct. That is that if I handle the Message on my Mac, the Message notification in the Notification Center of my iPhone disappears.

Hello maximedupre!

It sounds like you want notifications for email not to remain in your Notification Center when you have handled the notification on a different device. Notifications are device-specific. You can change your notification settings on your iPhone so that your email notifications will appear in another way, like a sound, badge, or a banner on your screen and not in your Notification Center if you prefer. Those are temporary notifications and do not require you to go back in and remove them individually.

I hope this was helpful. Good Luck!
