MacBook Pro getting very hot

My 16” MacBook Pro is getting very hot recently. I believe it is 2019 with an Intel i9 and 16 gb of memory. I recently got the bottom case replaced by apple and they also gave me a new battery. I was using it earlier and I noticed that it was very hot. I looked in CleanMyMacX and it was at 175° F and the load was only at 4%. This persisted for about 30 mins. I restarted it a few times and reset the SMC and NVRAM and the issue persisted for a little while and then seemed to have figured itself out. However, I noticed that it heats up to that point, but only when the display goes to sleep, or when it is turned off and charging. Can someone please assist me with this?

by the way: There is nothing obstructing the vents. The room temperature is fine and there is proper airflow. It is not any of that. It is the MacBook itself. Whether this is something hardware or software related, I’m not sure. I did recently update it.

The 2019 Intel Mac can get quite warm yes—

especially when specific apps call into play the AMD Radeon Pro GPU, for example the Photo.apps to name just one.

I will add—it is recommended to Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/Anti-Virus/VPN

all known to cause issues on the macOS—your < CleanMyMacX > has proven to be one of the worst and not advised.

Compare your results after you run the uninstaller—If in doubt refer to the developers website; Support/Help/FAQ/known issues/compatibility /updates/uninstall:

If you still have an issue you can Try resetting the SMC Reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

You didn’t read my question. “Yes they get pretty hot” is a non answer. I’m trying to tell you I’ve owned a MacBook for years and this is out of bounds of being normal. And I’ve never had any issues with cleanmymac and have been using it for years.

Well you have an issue now on this particular macOS independent of your past experience—

my recommendation is uninstall < CleanMyMacX > and compare your results. This would be step number 1 if you are looking to get help in resolving the issue.

I was only using CleanMyMacX to see my cpu temp because iStatMenu isn’t working properly at the moment. I can assure you, this has nothing to do with CleanMyMac. My original post stated that my MacBook was heating up while there were literally zero processes running. That includes CleanMyMac. I’ve had it installed for years on 2 different MacBook Pros and have never experienced overheating issues. I also stated that I just got a new bottom case and a new battery. Yet you seem pretty stuck on CleanMyMac
