Unable to access books or download on iPad

I was paired by iPhone and iPad but yesterday I had issues with a downloaded book. I was told to delete books and reinstall app. This I did but now my phone won’t pair with iPad so I cannot get access to all my books It keeps on saying not supported but worked fine yesterday. Why has this happened. All my things are exactly the same on iPad and iPhone. I have an iPad 6th gen and an iPhone SE
