Deleted photos

So I used to have an iPhone 8 but then I got an iPhone 12 so I sent the old iPhone to a cousin in a foreign country. The two phones have the same iCloud on it. I didn’t know that if I took a picture it would go onto the other phone. Recently my cousin deleted all the pictures of me on the iPhone 8 and when I checked the iPhone twelve, they were all gone. I asked my cousin if they could recover the photos but they claim they can’t find it. Is there any way that I could get my photos back without having the iPhone 8 with me?
