DESKTOP ICONS NOT CONTROLLABLE with Mac OS Ventura 13.1

I've just installed Mac OS Ventura 13.1 on my MacBook Pro and can't move my desktop icons as before. When I try to move them, they immediately snap back into their opening location.

Any suggestions about how to resolve this?

On an Empty Space on your Desktop >> Control Click the Empty Space

As sub menu will appear as in image below and choose the options best suited for your needs

Heads up- Monday Jan 13, 2022 Apple Released an update to version 13.2
