Can’t add Apple ID payment method

I got a new card and when I put in the new information it says that the card failed. When I go back to edit the details it says “to avoid interruptions to your subscriptions and purchases verify your payment information or add a new payment method.” I have added the card to my Apple wallet with no issues and use the card online all the time. I just want to install some apps.

If you have ongoing subscriptions, one payment method has always to stay on the list, before you can add and remove it.

You could try to add funds by redeeming an Apple Gift Card and then try again to add your new credit card info.

Contacting the official Apple Support and asking them to look into your personal settings would also be an option, in case there is an issue with your personal settings on their side.
