Map zoom in CarPlay

While Using Maps in CarPlay, Siri says it can’t zoom in or out while I’m driving. Focus is not activated. How do I fix this

Up until upgrading my phone to ios16 a week or so ago, I could tell Siri (Carplay) to “Show route detail” or “Show route overview” to zoom in/out to the extremes. Have these commands been deleted or replaced? I guess I have to submit feedback

Hello JDK475,

You mentioned trying to zoom in and out with CarPlay using Siri. While you won't be able to use Siri to zoom in or out, but you can zoom in from the CarPlay screen. We're referring to information in this guide here: Change the map view in CarPlay - Apple Support

Find your location on a map, zoom in and out, and move the map to see the detail you need.

When you follow turn-by-turn directions, you can tap the touchscreen or turn the rotary knob, then do one of the following:

• Switch between detailed and high-level views: To see a detailed 3D map with your heading at the top of the screen, select . To see the route overview in 2D with north at the top of the screen, select .

• Zoom in or out: Select or .

• Scroll the map: Select , then select a direction arrow on one of the edges of the screen. To return to turn-by-turn directions, tap Resume.

On some touchscreens, you can also drag the map to scroll it.
