custom labels for phone numbers in iphone

In the contacts in iPhone 14 Pro IOS version 16.2, you can no longer put in custom lables.

You can only use the standard lables from Apple.

My solution I make the contact in an other iPhone and put in custom labels there.

Then you use ariDrop to copy thecontact to you iPhone 14 pro.

Not elegant - not apple style. Have the problems for a while.

As a user I have 14 years iPhone experience since iPhone1.

Hello Master1964,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. You can still create custom labels for iPhone contacts in iOS 16.2. Start with the following guidance from Edit contacts on iPhone - Apple Support.

In the Contacts app , assign a photo to a contact, add a pronunciation, change a label, add a birthday, and more to your contacts.
1. Tap a contact, then tap Edit.

While editing, tap 'add related name' then tap on the label and scroll down to 'Add Custom Label'. If you do not see that option, it may depend on the account where the contact is saved. To isolate this a bit, go to the Contacts app, then Lists in the upper left corner. Tap on each account and check to see if you can give contacts in each account a custom label. We hope that helps.

Kind regards.
