Documents folder emptied by iCloud?
I have Ventura 13.0.1 and was shocked to find that in the Documents folder on my internal drive all the folders were still in place, but every single file was gone from each folder. As you can see I do NOT have that enabled in my iCloud settings:
When I hover the cursor over the color bars that portray the contents of iCloud drive I apparently have 61GB of "Documents" there, but I never selected an option to relocate them there.
A). Why would the files not appear BOTH on my Mac (empty links is the typical approach) and in the cloud if that is the default approach? Makes no sense- I can't access them.
B) How do I retrieve those files MANUALLY. At this point I have zero faith that the iCloud won't just write-over all the Documents folder in the cloud drive with the empty folders on my Mac if I just select the box above.
Also, I never changed the defaults in the iCloud drive options. What a cluster- Thanks!
