Hi Tltt,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. We understand you're unable to receive Apple Cash. This article has some steps that may help: If you can't send or receive money with Apple Cash.

"

First, check the Apple System Status page to make sure there are no outages or scheduled maintenances currently affecting Apple Cash.

What you need to send or receive money

To send and receive money using Apple Cash, you must be a resident of the United States and your device must be in the United States.1 If you're under 18 years old, your family organizer must set up Apple Cash for you as part of Apple Cash Family. Then, you can send and receive money in Messages or Wallet.

To make sure that you have everything you need, follow these steps:

  1. Check for iOS or watchOS updates.
  2. Make sure that your device is eligible.
  3. Make sure that you have a Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
  4. Sign in to iCloud and iMessage with the same Apple ID on any device that you want to use to send or receive money:
    • iCloud: Tap Settings > [your name].
    • iMessage: Tap Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.

Try to receive money

After each step, see if you can receive money:

  1. Restart your device.
  2. See if you need to verify your identity.
  3. Make sure that you meet the requirements
  4. If you see Accept in the message, tap it. If this is the first payment that you’ve received or if you turned off the setting to automatically accept payments, then you need to tap to accept the money.
  5. Tap Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay, then make sure that you turned on Apple Cash.
  6. If you’re asked to request a lower amount or try again later, you might have encountered a limit. Learn about the limits for sending and receiving money.

If you need help with an Apple Cash transaction

If you can't send or receive money, you might have to verify your identity to continue using Apple Cash. Learn more about identity verification and what to do if your account is restricted or locked.

To get help with a transaction or payment, contact us.

If your Apple Cash account is restricted or blocked, this article has some information that may help: If your Apple Cash account is restricted or locked.

"

To prevent fraud, ensure account security, and comply with regulations, your Apple Cash account may be restricted or locked. Your account may also be restricted if you dispute an unauthorized transaction with your bank and a chargeback is filed. Your account restriction or lock may be temporary until you verify your identity or while your account is under review, or you may need to contact Apple Support for next steps.

If your Apple Cash account requires identity verification

  • On iPhone: Open the Wallet app, then tap your Apple Cash card.
  • On iPad: Open the Settings app, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap your Apple Cash card.
  • On Apple Watch: Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap your Apple Cash card.

Tap Verify Identity, then follow the onscreen steps. Make sure the personal information you enter during identity verification is accurate. Learn more about identity verification.

If your Apple Cash account is in review

If your account is restricted while under review, you can't send or receive money with Apple Cash, or add money to your account. If your account is locked while under review, you also can't transfer money to your bank or make purchases with Apple Pay.1

Reviews take up to 2 business days. When the review is complete your account will either be active, or there'll be a message on your Apple Cash card with your account status.

If your Apple Cash account is restricted

Your account may be restricted if your identity verification fails multiple times, if there are multiple accounts tied to the same social security number, or if there's suspected fraud on the account. If your account is restricted, you can still transfer your Apple Cash balance to your bank or use it to make purchases with Apple Pay. You can't send or receive money, or add money to your account.

If your account is restricted and there are no instructions provided, contact Apple Support.

If your Apple Cash account is locked

Your account may be locked if there's suspected fraud on the account, or if additional security checks need to be completed. If your account is locked, you can't use Apple Cash to make purchases, send or receive money, add money to your account, or transfer money to your bank.

If your account is locked and there are no instructions provided, contact Apple Support.

If you're part of Apple Cash Family

Your Apple Cash Family organizer can lock a family member's Apple Cash account. If the organizer locks your Apple Cash account, you can't make purchases, or send and receive money.

If you get Daily Cash from Apple Card purchases

When your Apple Cash account is locked or restricted, your Daily Cash from Apple Card purchases accumulates in your Apple Card account.2 The accumulating Daily Cash can be applied towards your Apple Card balance.

Take care.
