Reset HomePod

I'm trying to reset my HomePod mini manually but it is not working, what do I do now?

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 16

If you cannot reset using the Press the top of HomePod to reset it method try connecting to a computer with a USB C port, or via an adaptor and follow the steps in the Restore HomePod mini with a Mac or PC section of Reset HomePod - Apple Support.

I removed it from my phone through settings and the home app. But it is still linked somehow, without being really paired which is why I am trying to reset it manually. I unplug it for 10 secs, plug it back (wait another 10 seconds) and then hold the "button" but the light does not turn red which means it won't beep 3 times to reset either.

How is it not working and which method are you trying? By removing from the HomePod or pressing the top to Reset?
