Canon LBP6030W no longer working with Ventura 13.1

Hello,

I am at my wit's end trying to get this printer to work. I have gone through all of the fixes, updated drivers, and all that jazz. It simply doesn't work after Ventura 13.1. The printer is absolutely connected to WiFi, if I print a status page it shows the IP address. So I tried connecting to it by the IP, and my mac still will not find the printer. It won't even work on USB. Please tell me there is some sort of workaround. I bought that printer as a small and somewhat portable option for my business, and it is now worthless to me.

The document you linked was not helpful. It is not an Airprint printer. I have added the printer to the network successfully via WPS. As I said in my original post, it definitely is on the network and has an IP. I cannot connect to the printer on USB, it is not recognized. I have tried to install it from the manufacturer software. Before I upgraded to Ventura, it worked. Now, it does not work, not with any of these methods.

Hi elizabethfromfruita,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you're unable to print from your Mac to your Canon printer.

Are you using AirPrint to print from your Mac? If so, check out the steps outlined here to help set up your printer for AirPrint: Connect an AirPrint printer to a Wi-Fi network - Apple Support

"This general information isn't specific to any particular AirPrint printer. For detailed steps, check the printer's documentation or contact the printer's manufacturer. All Wi-Fi printers need a properly configured Wi-Fi network and the name (or SSID) and password of that network."

If you need additional help with your printer and to ensure it supports macOS Ventura, we'd suggest that you contact Canon directly. You can reach them here: Canon Support

Take care!

Hello elizabethfromfruita,

We understand it used to work, but manufacturer and developers must make products that work with the operating system. Meaning, for example, if Apple changes the operating system from 32-bit to 64-bit, all the other manufacturers and developers must send out updates to re-allow their stuff to work with the new macOS.

If none if these options work: Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac - Apple Support

Then you will need to contact Canon and wait for an update. Sometimes manufacturer stop making updates for older devices, or their product is too old to handle the new software, then the only option is to buy a new printer. None of this Apple is aware of though, which is why you need to contact the manufacturer. You can reach them here: Canon Support

Thanks.
