Why is my watch asking for my location very frequently even though I enabled location “once”?

This means you have not granted access to location services for Watch Faces on your iPhone.
On your iPhone open the Settings App (the one for the phone, not the watch)
Tap Privacy & Security
Tap Location Services
Tap Watch Face and set to While Using the App and turn on Precise Location
