Watch keeps asking for location permission

Since a few days back the Watcha and iPhone 13 are asking for location permission. I always agree to when using the app. But a few hours later it asks me again!

This is new behaviour.

This has started happening with my Apple Watch Series 7 and iPhone 14 with the Weather app. It’s driving me crazy.

Sometime within the last week the same thing started happening to me on my Apple Watch Series 7 and iPhone 15 Pro.

And it seems to be more than just with the watch - a few times when I got into my car with wireless CarPlay, the Maps all said it couldn't get directions because Maps didn't have location permission. (so I had to pull over, find my phone in my bag and enable location AGAIN before continuing)
