Dictation is awful after the update?

A while back, there was an update that introduced automatic punctuation to dictation. Ever since then, Apple's transcription service has been awful. I use dictation heavily, every day. It used to be a huge convenience, and I rarely had to correct anything. Now, I have to correct whole phrases that it seems to have invented. There are errors in almost every dictation. (And don't get me started about all the random punctuation marks that it adds in the wrong places.)

Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have a solution?

(And before you copy-and-paste an "install updates and reboot" response, yes, I've done that.)

I thought I was crazy because it worked so well up until this last update, so yes, me too. But I did go in and turn off smart punctuation and auto punctuation on both my laptop and iPhone, and it's so much better.

Kind of back to where it was before the update. I can add my own punctuation, thank you. So anyway, if you haven't tried that, definitely do.
