Apple Pencil Get 2 Lag on iPad Pro

Since the upgrade to IpadOS 16.2 I have notice a lag with my Apple Pencil when using Apple notes. I am not sure if it is the Notes App which was also upgraded or the OS.

I have tried both of the suggested Apple fixes. Neither of which made a difference.

I have restarted my Powered down and then up.

This is connected to the last upgrade as it was not happening previously.

Anyone else have this issue ?

Hi I have been using the Apple Pencil 2nd Gen + IPAD PRO + Apple Notes fine for past 18 months. Since the last upgrade not so fine. There is a lag in writing in Apple Notes which undermines the apple pencil experience.

Hello felichee64,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We want to help make sure your Apple Pencil is working as it should.

Make sure the Apple Pencil is properly paired with these steps:

"If your Apple Pencil won't pair with your iPad

  1. Make sure to center your Apple Pencil (2nd generation) on the magnetic connector on the right edge of the iPad. For Apple Pencil (1st generation) and iPad (6th through 9th generations), remove the cap and plug your Apple Pencil into the Lightning connector on your iPad. For Apple Pencil (1st generation) and iPad (10th generation), remove the cap and plug your Apple Pencil and a USB-C cable into the USB-C to Apple Pencil Adapter. Plug the other end of the cable into your iPad.
  2. Restart your iPad, then try to pair again.
  3. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.
  4. On the same screen, find your Apple Pencil under My Devices. If you find it, tap Information icon. Then tap Forget this Device.
  5. Connect your Apple Pencil into your iPad and tap the Pair button when it appears after a few seconds.
  6. If the Pair button doesn't appear, wait for one minute while your Apple Pencil charges. Then try connecting your Apple Pencil again and wait until the Pair button appears.
  7. If the Pair button still doesn't appear, contact Apple Support."
