Cant't buy anything with my apple balance (gift card)

I bought a brand new macbook pro and they gave me a 250 USD gift card. Additionally a received another 70 USD gift card. Total 320 USD. The problem is that I can't buy anything, not even a usb cable.

PS: I have a valid credit/debit card.
