HomePod Mini Audio Keeps Cutting Out

I just got a new HomePod mini last week and got it fully updated and paired just fine. I use it on my desk often as an external speaker for my MBP. However, this thing keeps cutting out on the audio no matter what I do and it's very laggy when responding to changes on the Mac (like pause/play, etc). So far I have rebooted manually (unplugged), rebooted via the Home app, reset the thing, and went through the pairing process again. It still cuts out audio at random and lags like I'm trying to control it from the moon. I'm sitting where I can see my router about 6 ft away to the right (unobstructed), my MBP is two feet to the left (also unobstructed)

Help?

Even though the Homepod is close to the router there might be wifi interference (such as a microwave oven). You could try changing channels on the router to see if it makes a difference.

Hello canela82,

To help with intermittent loss of playback audio, try disabling your Apple (source) device's Lossless Audio setting. You will find it located within Apple Music's app Settings; for iPhone its in the Audio Quality option and for Mac its in the Playback option.

If you notice loss of audio while using other streaming services, you may want to disable any High quality audio playback setting.

Hope that helps.
