Some songs won't play in my playlist but they play in Apple Music browsing and songs disappear from the playlist?

A significant number of the tracks are suddenly greyed out in my playlists. The tracks do however play in Apple Music browsing when I search for them. They just won't play in the playlist I created. Removing them and adding them again worked with a couple. With others not. I then downloaded albums (this made them visible in my Library) to add the songs to my playlist. Unfortunately, after closing the playlist all the newly added songs disappeared. Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately non of your suggestion are relevant. My phone and Mac are always synced and the songs are not removed from the Apple Music platform. I can play them, just not from my playlist. Anny other suggestions? Thanks.
