Navigating to Apple TV series episodes

The current user flow for switching episodes in an Apple TV series is not very user friendly. You currently have to navigate back to the main screen, search for the show and then switch to a different episode. So if you fall asleep watching a series and want to go back it’s a very frustrating experience. Product Managers might want to look at HBO, Netflix platforms and consider allowing users a simpler option. my husband just gave up on For All Mankind because he’s frustrated with this platform.

On what device with the Apple TV app is this happening?

So if you fall asleep watching a series and want to go back it’s a very frustrating experience.

I would advise not to fall asleep while watching, and just hit pause when ‘your eyelids get heavy’.

You compare Netflix and HBO Max. Those also need tracking back past episodes to find the latest familiar scene. That doesn’t seem all that different.

Netflix would be limited to 3 episodes or 90 minutes since the last interaction, because of the “Are you still watching” notification (unless disabled). I didn’t read about HBO Max having such a feature.

Watched episodes for Apple TV+ would be marked with a checkmark. You can “scrub the timeline” in any episode for a scene preview that looks like what you remember seeing before.

If you have specific ideas for improvement of finding a scene in recently watched episodes, then you can share that with Apple through the feedback form: Feedback - Apple TV App - Apple.
