HomePod automations issue Playing song on “repeat”

Home app - HomePod automation issue. I’ve been using Automations to play an Apple Music track, White Noise for Deep Sleep (loop) on a HomePod in our bedroom. Set the automation to have HomePod play track at specified time, repeat track, duration (forever) because the menu only has choices to 4 hours. Another automation to pause the HomePod in the morning at a specified time.

Well, this worked great until about a month ago. Since then the HomePod stops playing about two hours into the night. Never makes it through the night since then. Have updated and reset the HomePod and iOS devices.

Hard to find help on this, did find other HomePod users on Reddit with the exact same issue.

Hello macglenn,

If an automation is not working properly, you can try removing it and setting it back up.

Create scenes and automations with the Home app

If it's still not working the way you have it set up to work, then you'll want to contact Apple to report the issue: Get Support

After the 16.3 HomePod update, I have recreated this automation but instead of selecting a white noise track from Apple Music or from my Music Library, we’re now offered a new category “Ambient Sounds”. These are different from other tracks by being “endless” and not requiring the “repeat” command. This solution has worked without issue for about a week now.
