Synching calendars on my MacBook Air and my iPad

Events that I enter on my iPad calendar do not appear on my MacBook Air calendar. Is it possible to set things up so that an event entered on the one device will automatically appear on the other?

thank you in advance for the time and trouble of a response.

Hello jethro11,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Calendar events should sync between your iPad and Mac automatically as long as you are using the same calendars on both devices. In that case, we'd recommend making sure that your default calendar is the same on both.

You can change your default calendar on iPhone using these steps from Set up multiple calendars on iPhone.

"Set a default calendar

You can set one of your calendars as the default calendar. When you add an event using Siri or other apps, it’s added to your default calendar.

  1. Go to Settings > Calendar > Default Calendar.
  2. Select the calendar you want to use as your default calendar."

On Mac, you can change the default calendar from Calendar > Settings > General > Default Calendar as mentioned in Change General settings in Calendar on Mac.

If both appear as the same account, test with multiple accounts. That will help to isolate whether the issue is related to a particular email account.

Take care.
