How do you tell the Apple TV app on your smart tv that you have a subscription?

We are subscribed to Apple TV+, but cannot get th3 fire stick on the smart tv to acknowledge.

Verify that you are signed in to the Apple TV app, through the in-app Settings (sprockets wheel icon), with the Apple ID account that has the subscription.
