Hi techieclueless,
Since you're receiving a message that says, "USB Accessories Disabled, Unplug the accessory using too much power to re-enable USB devices," we recommend you try the steps in the link below.
If you see USB Devices Disabled on your Mac - Apple Support
When you have a chance, please complete the steps below to perform the recommended troubleshooting steps via the link above.
If an external device isn’t recognized by your Mac and a message says that the device needs more power, the operation can't be completed, or USB Devices Disabled, try these steps:
*Disconnect and reconnect the external device to your Mac.
*Connect your external device to a different port on your Mac.
*If your external device is connected to a USB or Thunderbolt hub, connect your device directly to your Mac.
*If your USB or Thunderbolt hub is self-powered, make sure that it’s connected to an AC adapter.
We recommend the steps above because drives, cameras, keyboards, hubs, and other devices that plug into the ports on your Mac can request a limited amount of power.
If you’re still experiencing the same issue after giving the above steps a try, we recommend contacting Apple Support directly so that they can work with you to find a solution.
You can reach them by clicking here: Apple Support or calling the most local number in your region: Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support
